Smart Perth sprinter Watermans Bay could head east again next year after his impressive win in Saturday’s Group 3 Scahill Stakes at Ascot.
Watermans Bay made it back to back Scahill Stakes wins on Saturday when running on strongly from the tail to defeating Magnifisio, the mare that also ran second to him last year.
Watermans Bay was coming off a second placing to Buffering in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes, his third successive placing in the race.
Watermans Bay has already made two trips to Victoria and could make another interstate raid in 2016 with carnivals in Adelaide and Brisbane both potential targets.
The gelding was first sent east in the spring of last year but failed to place in three Melbourne runs.
He returned in the autumn of this year and won the Group 3 Victoria Handicap at Caulfield.
