Ryker, who races in the Pierro colours, showed good talent through his 3YO season with two wins including the Albury Guineas and placings in the Scone Guineas and Queensland Guineas.

He looked very sharp in today’s trial win, leading easily and then showing impressive acceleration over the last 200m of the 840m heat to run away to an easy 5.5 lengths win over a classy field of Group and Listed performers including Scandiva, Terravista, Hawkspur and Weary.

Waterhouse also two other black type heats with her G1 Queen Of The Turf winner Diamond Drille and Valentia.

Another impressive trial winner was the three-year-old Sarajevo, a winner of his only start last season who is highly regarded by Godolphin trainer John O’Shea.

He let down strongly to win his heat over an impressive array of established Group performers including classy sprinter Villa Verde and the dual G1 winner Boban, who went to the line keenly in fourth place under a strong hold.

The highly rated import Our Voodoo Prince finished at the rear but was not put under any pressure at any stage of the trial.

Former New Zealand mare Neena Rock made an impression when she won her first Sydney trial for trainer John Sargent.

A Group 3 winner in NZ during the autumn, Neena Rock sprinted home keenly to win her heat over 1050m.

Peter Moody’s high class Group winner Dissident worked home nicely behind Neena Rock to finish fifth under no pressure.
