The Kim Waugh mare will run in the Benchmark 85 Handicap (1100m) with 1.5kg claiming apprentice Josh Adams to ride, and Waugh was hopeful she could eventually live up to the potential she showed as a filly.

Kimillsy was third in 2008 Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick behind champion filly Samantha Miss.

She also collected a fourth placing in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes (2000m), before injuring herself in the Crown Oaks (2500m) at Flemington.

“She had the tendon problem originally [after the Oaks] and had to have 12 months off from that,” Waugh said.

“Last prep she was going very well. She ran in that mare's race at Scone and we were getting ready to take her to Brisbane for a couple of runs.

“Then she had a gallop one morning and pulled up sore.

“She had pulled the muscles in her shoulder and had to have a long while off.

Last April Waugh had Kimillsy nearly back to her best with a second in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m) at Randwick and then she was unplaced in the listed Dark Jewel Classic (1400m) at Scone.

Waugh had brought Kimillsy back again with a campaign in mind through the autumn Sydney Carnival.

“She's done a bit of work. She has had a couple of trials and she has come through them really well,” Waugh said.

“There is a nice mares' race nearly every week for her. But the Wiggle Stakes is the race we'd like to get her ready for.

“We put her in the Doncaster because at her best she could be competitive in a race like that. But there are a lot of different options.”

The $100,000, listed Wiggle Stakes (1400m) is for four-year-old mares on Chipping Norton Stakes day.
