Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts

R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.

SELECTIONS

Rosehill Race 4 - 8 Lycia

Has been excellent in all three runs this prep and is well placed to record her second win from last three starts with the advantage of a 3kg claim to bring her in with 2.5kg under the limit.

Last start she did all but win when a game third in the very heavy ground over 1400m at Randwick and should appreciate the extra 100m on the firmer track this time.

Plenty of respect for Extensible but the 3.5kg weight spread makes all the difference.

Rosehill Race 6 - 3 We're Sure

Promising 3YO gelding returns to Sydney from an eye catching fifth in Listed company over 1200m at Flemington three weeks ago after resuming with an easy win at Newcastle.

Has handled affected tracks well and makes a lot of appeal in this grade as he appears to have plenty of upside off his last run.

Rosehill Race 9 - 10 Cheeky Babe

There can be cause for concern when a horse is scratched twice in a week but in the case of this filly her withdrawals from races at Rosehill and Canterbury were simply due to wanting for the best possible surface and after a dry week the wait should be worthwhile.

She is a talented prospect who has missed a place just once in her six starts and is set to go on from an excellent first-up third over this course and distance on June 22 that was followed by the benefit of a Randwick trial placing.
