Andrew Bourke’s Champions League is a horse in form and will aim to achieve back-to-back TAB Federal wins when he contests Friday’s contest over 1300m.
One of only three horses trained out of Boorowa, Champions League was ultra-impressive when easily accounting for a strong field last time out on 29 December over 1400m.
The son of Savabeel has recorded two wins and a second-placing from three starts this preparation and Trainer Andrew Bourke is confident he can keep up his winning ways.
"I've always known he's had a fair bit of ability" Bourke said. "Last time in, it was just too wet through the winter for him."
"This time he's found some nice dry tracks and the results speak for themselves."
"We've also ridden him more quietly and his last two wins, he's showed a good turn of foot late to go past them."
Champions League has drawn barrier 5 on Friday and will again partner with in-form appreciate Jake Barrett.
"It's a good field again here on Friday but he certainly hasn't gone backwards, I'll be expecting a good run."
Champions League will meet key rival Tap 'N' Run once again, half a kilogram worse off after besting the Ron Stubbs's trained galloper by two lengths here a fortnight ago.
Keith Dryden's Incentive is another who enters this contest in form, after two wins and third placing from three appearances this preparation.
The TAB Federal is Race 5 on a strong 8-race program at Thoroughbred Park.
Friday's race meeting will be a rare twilight event with the first race due at 3:25pm and the last at 7:30pm.
