Former Malaysian runners Captain Obvious and Speed Baby showed that they were now quite at home in Singapore by running the 1-2 in the G3 Jumbo Jet.
Now with Steve Burridge, who has strong connections with Malaysian racing, it was expected Captain
Obvious would do better under these conditions than under his heavy impost on his first start, and theelegant grey did not disappoint. (Why is it that grey horses always look so elegant?) Speed Baby was
the surprise result and Keep Away was another shock for third, with the more favoured runners includingBetter Than Ever following behind. Better Than Ever was vetted after the race and nothing unusual was
discovered.Certainly the draw helped the winner and racing favoured those runners who were on the pace or indeed in
the lead, as was the case with Trafalgar Legacy in the Open, who managed to open up too much of a leadfor Martial Art to wear him down, and Steadfast Warrior followed behind them for third.
Steve Burridge has the Kranji Mile on the program for his two and a possible trip to Dubai in the future.
