Opinion Poll made up for his second to Fame and Glory at Ascot with a win in the G2 feature of Thursday's festivities.
Opinion Poll was well fancied but fellow Godolphin runner Lost In The Moment wasn't as he came in
second at 11/1, with Blue Bajan, one of those horses who gets under the radar, third ahead of theimproving Fox Hunter. Manighar and Red Cadeaux were disappointing and Montaff never in it.
The Lillie Langtry G3 for the f&m 3y+ over 2800m had a field of 10 and it was a double for Dettori when
Meeznah won at 6/1 just ahead of French raider Shankardeh. Motrice was third at 9/1 but Wild Cocowas disappointing - the drying ground didn't help her cause,
Friday's card sees the G3 Glorious Stakes for the 4y+ over 2400m first off of the big races. 10 horses
here, including last year's winner Redwood back to defend at 7/2. Jukebox Jury is 4/1, Harris Tweed9/2 and Drunken Sailor 11/2.
The Richmond Stakes G2 is for the 2yo over 1200 and also has 10 runners. Harbour Watch is 13/8 for
the Richards, Bannock having his 7th start is 5/1, and Saigon is ridden by Kirsty Milczarek who haspiloted him at both his wins, is 8/1, and one that we are tracking is Silverheels at 12/1.
The Oak Tree is G3 for f&m over 1400m with 17 to go to post. Chachamaidee is 4/1, Khoor Sheed 9/2,
Maqaasid 6/1, and French raider Thai Haku, whom we liked in Dubai earlier in the year, is our roughie ofthe day at 25/1.
And the seriously good news is that AQIS and Racing Victoria have sorted out the quarantine problem
at Newmarket and its all systems go for the European runners to come to the Spring Carnival.
