Apprentice Jack Doughty has been given a 20-day whip ban for multiple counts of overuse of the stick. Six of the days have been deferred, but the sanction will come as a major blow for Doughty, who currently leads the apprentice standings with 24 winners.
Aidan O'Brien is set for a rare runner in the Listed Stonehenge Stakes at Salisbury on Wednesday. The master of Ballydoyle declared The Parthenon this morning. Ryan Moore will take the ride on the son of Kingman, who built on his promising debut in the Group 3 Marble Hill Stakes when getting off the mark over seven furlongs at the Curragh.
