Simon and Ed Crisford’s Awaal heads 56 five-day entries for the Lincoln at Doncaster on Saturday.
The Simon and Ed Crisford-trained five-year-old only found Migration too strong in the premier handicap twelve months ago and is one of 56 horses who remain in contention for the feature of the opening day of Britain's 2024 Flat turf season.
The son of Lope De Vega failed to get his head in front last season but posted some solid efforts in defeat, including when third in the Listed Guisborough Stakes at Redcar on his penultimate outing.
Awaal currently heads the ante-post market at 4/1 for the Doncaster feature on Saturday, with Roger Varian's unexposed four-year-old, Botanical, who was a general 7/1 chance, not among the entries.
Other well-fancied horses who will not take part in the Lincoln on Saturday include Sparks Fly, Elnajmm and Desert Order.
