The Willie Mullins-trained Grangeclare West has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The exciting novice chaser, owned by Cheveley Park Stud, was a winner over hurdles but appeared to improve considerable for the switch to fences on his chasing bow, taking a competitive Naas event in November. He was stepped up in class and travelled strongly throughout when winning the Grade 1 Neville Hotels Novice Chase, but was found cast in his box on Sunday and withdrawn from the Grade 1 Ladbroke Novice Chase at the Dublin Racing Festival.
Mullins told Sporting Life: "Unfortunately Grangeclare West was found cast in his box on Sunday and has now been ruled out for the rest of the season."
