There are five meetings across the UK to get stuck into today and we head to the coast for our first selection. Yarmouth hosts seven races this evening and I thought Seven Questions would be shorter in the betting than he is to shed his maiden in the Diomed EBF Maiden Stakes at 6.10.

George Scott has his team in excellent shape at present with a 31% strike-rate (4-13) over the last fortnight and Seven Questions should have every chance of enhancing that statistic this evening.

The Victorious Racing & Fawzi Nass-owned colt showed plenty of promise on his debut when fourth at Redcar and it's easy to upgrade that effort given, he was slowly away. The runner-up that day went on to land the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and the winner, who was seventh in the aforementioned Ascot race, was hardly disgraced when fourth in the Listed Dragon Stakes at Sandown. It's worth noting that George Scott's runner was withdrawn at the start in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes, but he was stood in the stalls for a fair amount of time and can be excused for getting upset beforehand.

It's probably fair to say he failed to run to that level when going down by a neck over course and distance next-time-out, but it remained a solid effort in defeat and the experience at this track will stand him in good stead today.

He certainly faces some interesting contenders in the shape of Etoile D'Alexandre, Bidendum, and Stanley Spencer, but with the stable in such good form there could easily be more to come from George Scott's son of Kodiac and he's selected to get off the mark.

Selection: Seven Questions – General 4/1

Bath plays host to seven afternoon races and the David Simcock-trained Pfingstberg could take some stopping in the CB Protection Event Specialists Handicap.

Pfingstberg looked all about stamina when a one-paced third over this distance at Yarmouth on his handicap debut. Although David Simcock's charge doesn't step up in trip here this race should pan out much more to his liking, with a greater emphasis on stamina almost certain due to the softer ground and likely stronger gallop. He stuck to his task well at Yarmouth despite having to come from the rear of the field in a race dominated by those towards the fore.

David Simcock's recent record at Bath needs no introduction with a staggering five winners from his last ten runners at the Somerset venue.

I'd expect Luke Morris to be more positive on the German-bred son of Protectionist this afternoon and although he's shortened significantly throughout the morning, I still think there's enough juice in his price left to warrant putting him up.

Selection: Pfingstberg – General 13/8

Heads turn to Ireland for our final wager as Killarney continue their five-day festival.

The feature Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cairn Rouge Stakes takes place at 6.20 and I'm surprised Mea Domina doesn't head the market for Paddy Twomey and Billy Lee.

A dual winner in France for previous trainer Jerome Reynier, she has run well in both starts to date for new connections in Ireland. The form of her third-place finish behind last year's Group 1 Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Homeless Songs and close-up Group 1 Prix d'Ispahan fourth Buckaroo looks like an absolute standout here. She backed that up with a solid second in the Group 3 Gladness Stakes over seven furlongs at the Curragh and the step back to a mile looks a major positive.

Stall four also should aid her chances this evening at Killarney and I'm expecting Billy Lee to be nice and positive on his mount, who has made the running on both her starts in Ireland. It can be hard to catch horses off the front around Killarney and with the yard in excellent form (2-3 – 67% for the last 14 days), there's a lot to like about her chances back at Listed level.

Selection: Mea Domina – General 5/2
