Pale Mimosa may have run her last race for Dermot Weld after finishing third in the Prix du Cadran at Longchamp on Sunday.
A close fourth in last year's Long Distance Cup on Champions Day at Ascot, Pale Mimosa has enjoyed another fine season in the staying ranks, with her defeat of the Queen's Estimate in the Lonsdale Cup at York in August the undoubted highlight.
She came up narrowly short when favourite to claim Group One glory in Paris, finishing third behind James Fanshawe's High Jinx, and now has a date at the sales.
Speaking at Navan, Weld's son and assistant, Kris, said: "Pale Mimosa is in the sales. I'm not sure if she will run again before that."
Another inmate of Weld's stable to perform creditably at Longchamp was Tarfasha, who was beaten just a length into fourth in the Prix de l'Opera.
She could now be prepared for a trip to California.
"Tarfasha and Pale Mimosa both ran well in Longchamp. They have come back fine, although they are both a bit tired," said Weld.
"Tarfasha is in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare (Turf), so we'll have to see how she is."
