The son of Swiss Ace put together a winning hat-trick last season, which culminated in a victory in the Great Northern Guineas at the expense of the capable Tiptronic and the subsequent Gr.1 Australian Derby winner Jon Snow.

Swissta was spelled after two further unplaced outings and he will resume at Ruakaka on Saturday in the Polwarth Design 1200.

“We’re then planning to go to the last day of the Hawke’s Bay carnival for a 1600 metre race and later on we’re looking at Christchurch for him,” said trainer Richard Collett whose daughter Alysha will ride Swissta on Saturday.

The southern target for the gelding is the Gr.2 Coupland’s Bakeries Mile at Riccarton on November 15.

The stable will also be represented on Saturday by the genuine Biggin Hill and the stakes performer Selfie in the Harcourts Whangarei 1200 and Gottagetmywoohoo in the Ruakaka’s 40th Celebration Lunch 15 September.

Collett also has high hopes later in the year for Top Prospect, another by Swiss Ace who rounded off a hat-trick of three-year-old wins with a defeat of Barcelo in the Listed Trevor Eagle Memorial.

Top Prospect subsequently finished runner-up to the well-performed Saracino in the Gr.2 Wellington Guineas.

“He’s a bit behind Swissta and won’t be ready until later on, but once he gets up to 2000 metres he’ll be a really good horse,” Collett said.
