Danica Guy’s stable again promises to be a force to be reckoned with in this season’s sprinting majors.

The Matamata trainer recently welcomed her reigning Gr.1 Railway Stakes champion In Style back to her yard after a brief stint in Melbourne and with barn mate Tomorrowland they shape as a potent short course pairing.

Tomorrowland showed his quality at Otaki on Friday when he trounced a number of future Group One contenders in the Listed Chainey’s Panasonic Levin Stakes.

“He needs to be ridden quietly and he was ridden beautifully by Craig (Grylls),” Guy said.

Tomorrowland sat in the trail behind Miss Appleton to the turn and once he was angled into the clear he lengthened stride for the sixth win of his 15-start career.

“Craig has done a great job and I’m so pleased to see the horse back,” Guy said.

Tomorrowland will now head to Te Rapa for the Listed J Swap Sprint, a race he won last year, on December 12 with the Railway and the Gr.1 JR & N Berkett Telegraph at Trentham the obvious targets to follow.

Grylls said the hectic early pace at Otaki was ideal for their game plan with the five-year-old.

“It was a perfect speed and the plan was to take a sit and it worked out well. I got the split and he quickened up and put them away nicely.”

Silver Eclipse finished on for second ahead of The Bold One and the pacemaker Miss Appleton did well to hang on for fourth. The well-supported pair of Natuzzi and Barbaric never got into the race and were with the tailenders at the finish.
