New Zealand’s champion sire Savabeel produced his 16th Group One winner when the Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards-trained 2YO gelding Sword Of Osman won the G1 Sistema Diamond Stakes at Ellerslie.
Sword Of Osman (Savabeel x Bunyah by Distant View) is one of 73 stakes winners by Savabeel, who is racing towards more NZ sire titles this season.
Sword Of Osman is from European-bred mare Bunyah (Distant View) who is a half-sister to G3 winner Governor Brown (Kingmambo) and Listed winner Hataab (Woodman).
Bunyah is also the dam of the stakes-placed filly Fortaleza (Darci Brahma) and four other winners.Sword Of Osman is one of 73 stakes winners by Savabeel, who stood for a fee of NZ$100,000 in 2017.
• The Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained Saint Emilion provided former shuttle sire Mastercraftsman with his seventh G1 winner when he took out the New Zealand Stakes at Ellerslie.Saint Emilion (Mastercraftsman x Roseario by Pentire), now set an Australian campaign, was passed in at the 2013 NZB National Yearling Sale under his resrve of NZ$80,000.
He has since had 36 starts for 13 wins and four placings and accumulated NZ$387,045 prize money.His is from the four-time winner Roseario (Pentire), dam of two winers from two to race.
Roseario is a half-sister to the Listed winner Raw Instinct (Housebuster) and the unraced mare Passive Rose (Zabeel), the dam of Singapore stakes winner Yastrzemski (Keeper).
An NZ$8000 purchase by HT O’Leary at the 2014 NZB National Weanling, Broodmare and Mixed Sale Ladies First (Dylan Thomas x Just Polite by Dehere) has won nine races including two at stakes level from 16 starts and has earned NZ$480,760 prize money.
Ladies First is one of four winners out of the G3 winner Just Polite (Dehere), a half-sister to Singapore stakes-placed Take The Gold (End Sweep) and VRC Oaks placegetter Savsbelle (Savabeel).Dylan Thomas stands at Castle Hyde, the National Hunt arm of Coolmore Stud in Ireland.
