Frankel shared the breeding spotlight with his own sire Galileo on one of UK racing’s biggest days at Ascot on October 21 when he sired his second Group One winner and first in Europe.

The John Gosden-trained 3YO colt Cracksman (Frankel x Rhadegunda by Pivotal) was an emphatic winner of the G1 Champion Stakes on the British Champion’s Day program where Galileo products snared two of the majors.

The 2012 Champion Stakes was the last of 14 wins for the unbeaten Frankel before he was retired to stud.

Cracksman had bypassed the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on October 1 to target the Champion Stakes and the choice paid off when he showed an impressive turn of foot in soft conditions to defeat Poet’s Word (Poet’s Voice) by seven lengths with Galileo’s multiple G1 winner Highland Reel third.

Cracksman joins the Japanese-trained filly Soul Stirring as Frankel’s other G1 winner from his first crop that includes some 20 stakes winners.

Cracksman (Frankel x Rhadegunda by Pivotal) has now won five races with two placings from his seven career starts, earning more than 1.3 million pounds.

He is one of five foals out of the stakes winner Rhadegunda, including the G3 winner Fantastic Moon (Dalakhani).

His second dam St Radegund (Green Desert) produced six winners while his third dam is the dual G1 winner On The House (Be My Guest).

This family includes multiple G1 winner Golden Horn (Cape Cross) and Australian G1 winners Hauraki (Reset) and Kidnapped (Viscount).

Saxon Princess, a half-sister to Cracksman by Dalakhani, will be offered at the Goffs November Sale in foal to shuttle sire The Last Lion.

• Galileo’s G1 double on Champions Day came courtesy of his top stayer Order Of St George and star filly Hydrangea, both prepared for Coolmore by Aidan O’Brien.

O’Brien equalled the late US trainer Bobby Frankel’s record of 25 G1 winners in a calendar year when Hydrangea won the G1 British Champions Fillies and Mares Stakes.

The 3YO filly was having her first attempt over a mile and a half and fought gamely to beat the Dubawi pair Bateel and Coronet.

The home bred Hydrangea (Galileo x Beauty Is Truth by Pivotal) has won four time with seven placings in her 15 starts including two G1 wins.

She is one of seven foals out of the G2 winner Beauty Is Truth (Pivotal) including the imported G1 Ranvet Stakes The United States (Galileo) and G3 winner Fire Lily (Dansili).

Her second dam is the G3 winner Zelding (Warning) from the family of multiple Australian G1 winner Zipping (Zafonic).

• Order Of St George, raced by a syndicate that includes leading Australian owner Lloyd Williams, added to his status as the best stayer in Europe when he won the G2 British Champions Long Distance Cup over two miles.

The 5YO entire ran down Torecedor, a son of Fastnet Rock raced by New Zealand’s Te Akau Stud, after finishing fourth in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (2400m) at his previous start for the 11th win of his 22-start career.

Order Of St George (Galileo x Another Storm by Gone West) is one of ten named foals out of his winning dam including the G3 winners Asperity (War Chant) and Angel Terrace (Ghostzapper) and stakes winner Sehoy (Menifee).

His second dam is the dual G1 winning mare Storm Song (Summer Squall), a three-quarter sister to the dam of G3 Three winners Symphony Sid (Unbridled) and High Cotton (Dixie Union) and a half-sister to G2 winner Diamond Omi (Giant’s Causeway).

• John Gosden had a second G1 win on Champions Day when the 4YO mare Persuasive gave his sire Dark Angel his fifth G1 winner in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

Persuasive (Dark Angel x Choose Me by Choisir) beat the multiple G1 winner Ribchester (Iffraaj) and 2000 Guineas winner Churchill (Galileo).

Persuasive joins Harry Angel, Mecca’s Angel, Lethal Force and Battaash as Dark Angel’s other G1 winners.

Persuasive won six times in 10 starts and will now be retired to Cheveley Park Stud to commence a broodmare career.

She is out of the G3 winner Choose Me and is a half-sister to the Listed winner Tisbutadream (Dream Ahead).

• The Dean Ivory-trained Librisa Breeze gave his sire Mount Nelson, a son of Rock Of Gibraltar, his first G1 winner when he won the British Champions Sprint Stakes.

The 5YO gelding Librisa Breeze has now won six of his 16 starts.

He is from the stakes placed Linamix mare Bruxcalina, a half-sister to the G3 winner Baraan from the family of G1 winners Somali Lemonade (Lemon Drop Kid), Serra Lake (Seattle Slew), Keen Ice (Curlin), Verrazano (More Than Ready) and Harmonize (Scat Daddy).

Mount Nelson is the sire of 20 stakes winner and stands at Boardsmill Stud in Ireland.
