Champion sire Galileo added another classic winner to his amazing record when his 3YO daughter Seventh Heaven won the G1 Irish Oaks at the Curragh, leading home a parade of fillies by Coolmore stallions.
The first seven fillies to finish in the Oaks were produced by Coolmore sires.
Architecture and Harlequeen had finished second and third in last month’s Oaks at Epsom.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained Seventh Heaven (Galileo x La Traviata, by Johannesburg) won the Listed Lingfield Oaks Trial in May but failed to cope with the undulating Epsom track when sixth in the Oaks. She is the fifth Irish Oaks winner trained by O’Brien and the 59th individual G1 winner by the phenomenal Galileo.
Seventh Heaven is also the second G1 winner produced by her G3 winning dam La Traviata, joining her Middle Park Stakes winner Crusade (Mr Greeley).Another of La Traviata’s foals Cristoforo Colombo (Henrythenavigator) was a multiple G2 placegetter.
La Traviata is the best foal bred from Piedras Negras, an Unbridled mare whose stakes winning dam Provisions (Devils Bag) produced the dual Group winner Jack Sullivan (Belong To Me).Provisions descends from Novara (Dance Spell), a half-sister to multiple G1 winner Southjet (Northjet).
Seventh Heaven has a 2YO full sister and a yearling full brother in the O’Brien stable.
