* THE 2YO filly Aktoria became the third first crop stakes winner for Canford Cliffs when she won the Listed Prix Six Perfections at Deauville on Saturday.

Aktoria (Canford Cliffs x Granadilla by Zafonic) is among 18 2YO winners by the outstanding G1-winning son of son of Tagula, who shuttles from Coolmore Stud in Ireland to Victoria’s Blue Gum Farm.

Canford Cliffs had a double on Saturday as another of his juvenile fillies Holy Grail (Canford Cliffs x Dashing Beauty by Daggers Drawn) recorded her second win in four starts at Newmarket.

The sire of G2 Railway Stakes winner Painted Cliffs and G3 winner Most Beautiful had three individual winners for the week after another of his youngsters Garden World won at Beverley last Tuesday.

• COOLMORE’S fellow first season-sire Zoffany took his tally of first crop winners to 10 when Light Up Our World (Zoffany x Shine Like a Star by Fantastic Light) won at Newmarket for trainer Richard Hannon.

Zoffany, shuttling to Coolmore Australia this season, is a Derek Boocock-owned home-bred who had finished second on her debut at Ascot.

• ZEBEDEE 3YO Magical Memory struck a big win on Saturday when defeating 26 rivals in the $500,000 Steward's Cup on the final day of the Glorious Goodwood festival.

The Charlie Hills-trained Magical Memory became the first three-year-old to win the big handicap sprint since Danetime in 1997.

Zebedee, shuttling to South Australia’s Cornerstone Stud for the first time this spring, had a stunning 32 first-crop two-year-old winners in 2014 and is the current leading second-season sire in the UK with 46 winners in 2015.

Zebedee will go on show at the 2015 Cornerstone Stud Stallion Parade on August 30 with Dalakhani, Good Journey, Hussonet and first season sire Ambidexter.

Dalakhani is returning for his third season at Cornerstone. Good Journey was the leading stallion at stud in Australia last season by percentage stakes-winners to runners.
