Iffraaj, the son of Zafonic serving shuttle duty in New Zealand, has his second G1 winner after the Clive Brittain-trained fily Rizeena won the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
Rizeena (Iffraaj x Serena’s Storm by Statue Of Liberty), a close realtion to Melbourne Cup favourite
Rizeena, winner of the G2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot and third in the G1 Prix Morny at Deauvile, joins Wootton Basset as the second G1 by Iffraaj, who has three crops of racing age in the Southern Hemisphere and four in the Northern Hemisphere.
"I knew there was some good fillies in the race but we were exceptionally good," Brittain said.
"I've trained some top fillies like Sayyedati, User Friendly, and Pebbles but she may not be far behind them."
With her win, Rizeena earned an automatic berth in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita in November.
Rizeena, with four wins, a second and a third from seven career starts, races for Sheikh Rashid Dalmook al Maktoum.
She was an $80,360 purchase by Rabbah Bloodstock representing Sheikh Rashid from the Roundhill Stud consignment at last year's Tattersalls October yearling sale.
Brittain indicated Rizeena might now go to the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on September 28.
Bred in Ireland, Rizeena is out of the winning Statue Of Liberty mare Serena's Storm, a half sister to Australian G2 winner Puissance de Lune from the family of US champion Serena's Song and multiple graded stakes winner Doubles Partner.
In 2010 Iffraaj set a European record for a freshman sire with 36 2-year-old winners.
The 12-year-old son of Zafonic has 15 stakes winners among his four crops racing.
Rizeena, who has a Rock Of Gibraltar half brother catalogued for Book 2 of the 2013 October Yearling Sale from Round Hill Stud, headed a massive day for Tattersalls two year olds at The Curragh.
Earlier Great White Eagle enhanced his considerable reputation with a comfortable win in the G3 Round Tower Stakes.
The unbeaten colt is now as low as 10/1 for next year's 2000 Guineas, was sold for the highest price ever at a European Breeze Up Sale when purchased by agent Jamie McCalmont for 760,000 guineas at the Craven Breeze Up Sale.
Another Ballydoyle two year old to enter the 2014 classic picture was the filly Dazzling after a hugely impressive maiden debut win.
Purchased by Blandford Bloodstock for 925,000 guineas at Book 1 of last year's October Sale, the regally bred daughter of Galileo is a sister to Irish 2000 Guineas winner Roderic O’Connor and has a yearling sister catalogued for this year’s sale.
