Joshua Tree To Stand In France

Montjeu's accomplished international performer Joshua Tree is set to take up stud duties next year.

Stud plans for the son of Montjeu to stand in France were revealed after Joshua Tree finished second to Verema in the G2 Prix Kergorlay.

Co-owner Kamal Albahou confirmed that the six-year-old won't race beyond the end of this season and wil be the foundation sire at his recently acquired Haras de Gastines.

Joshua Tree was sold as a yearling to Demi O'Byrne for 360,000gns at the Tattersalls October sale in 2008.

He won the G2 Royal Lodge Stakes at Ascot for Aidan O'Brien and has since won the G1 Canadian International twice and Prix Kergorlay in 2012.

Joshua Tree was sold in November 2010 to Khalifa bin Hamad Al Attiyah before changing hands again last year.

Joshua Tree is out of the Grand Lodge mare Madeira Mist, who was placed twice at G3 level and is a sister to Lady O'Reilly's Listed winner Misty Heights.

The only other son of Montjeu standing in France is Motivator at Haras du Quesnay.
