Craven Breeze Up Sale At Newmarket

The catalogue for the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale on April 17-19 features 183 lots including half-brothers and sisters to 91 Group and Listed performers.

Seventeen of the top 20 active GB/IRE sires in 2011 are represented including Galileo, Danehill Dancer, High Chaparral, Montjeu, Dubawi, Exceed And Excel, Oasis Dream, Rock Of Gibraltar and Shamardal.

Top US sires represented include Bernardini, Dynaformer,Giant's Causeway, Marju, Medaglia D'Oro, More Than Ready. Smart Strike, Tale Of The Cat, Tapit, Unbridled's Song and War Front.

The first crop sires feature prominently including Duke Of Marmalade, Henrythenavigator, New Approach, Sakhee's Secret and War Pass while Authorized, Hard Spun and Teofilo are among sired with second crops catalogued.

The largest consignment comes from Mocklershill Stables with 22 two-year-olds catalogued whilst Bansha House Stables has 15 catalogued.

More than 60% of the two-year-olds catalogued are eligible for the Racing Post Yearling Bonus Scheme and there are also two lots eligible for the £1.3 million Tattersalls Millions series and a further two for the Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sale Stakes.

The 'breeze ups' will take place on Newmarket's Rowley Mile on April 17 with the sale on April 18 and 19.

There have been six individual G1 winning Tattersalls breeze up graduates over the last three years.

Last year included the G1 Nunthorpe Stakes winner Margot Did, English and Irish 2000 Guineas runner-up Dubawi Gold and the two-time G2 winning two-year-old Caspar Netscher.
