The opening to the Tattersalls yearling series is smaller than last year when 689 lots were catalogued but is one of the strongest catalogues of the last few years.

Among the stellar lots on offer are full or half-siblings to no less that 50 G1 or classic winners as well as to 230 Group/Listed winners.

All the leading sires in Britain and Ireland are represented along with the cream of sires from overseas.

Super sire Galileo is the most numerically represented with 34 lots catalogued, followed by the first crop sire Duke Of Marmalade with 30 yearlings on offer.

Working through the catalopue, an early filly with huge residual value, being a full sister to the Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Nightime, by Galileo will, be offered as lot 9.

Two lots later comes a filly by Lemon Drop Kid who is a half-sister to the dam of this season's Irish 2000 Guineas winner Roderic O'Connor (lot 11). This family is also represented by a Galileo full sister to the classic winner, who also landed last year's G1 Criterium International (lot 332).

Another full sibling to a classic winner is lot 23, a brother to Cheveley Park Stud's homebred 2006 Prix de Diane heroine Confidential Lady from the penultimate crop of Singspiel.

A potential box-office lot is another daughter of Galileo - a half-sister to this year's recently-retired Derby winner Pour Moi, himself a son of Galileo's paternal half-brother Montjeu, as well as Gagnoa (Sadler's Wells) who was placed in both the French and Irish Oaks (lot 112).

The family of Alruccaba is one of the best around and several of its representatives are on offer.

These include lot 161, a Danehill Dancer half-brother to the 2006 Poule d'Essai des Poulains victor

Aussie Rules (Danehill), as well as to the dam of last year's St Leger and Irish Derby runner-up Midas Touch.

Early on day two of the sale is a Montjeu half-brother to the Irish St Leger victor Sans Frontieres (Galileo) (lot 170).

Lot 237, a Cape Cross colt, represents a powerful classic family, being a half-brother to the dual 1000 Guineas heroine Finsceal Beo as well as last year's Group 2 Mehl-Mulhens Rennen (German 2000 Guineas) victor Frozen Power.

Also by Cape Cross is a half-brother to the 2002 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches winner Landseer, also a G1 winner in the US (lot 325).

Another Guineas winner with a sibling for sale is the Irish 2000 Guineas winner Mastercraftsman, whose Pivotal half-brother is offered as lot 362.

Among the exceptional race mares with progeny catalogued is lot 215, a Galileo colt out of the Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Miss Beatrix (Danehill Dancer).

Her first foal Oh So Lucy, a full sibling to this colt, has been placed twice this season.

Galileo is represented by lot 232, a filly who is the first foal out of Mrs Lindsay, whose big-race haul includes victory in both the G1 Prix Vermeille and the G1 E P Taylor Stakes in Canada in 2007.

Another dual top-level winner is Cheveley Park Stud's mare Nannina, whose Pivotal colt is now a full brother to a maiden winner since the catalogue was printed (lot 245).

Cheveley Park Stud also offers a Duke Of Marmalade colt out of the Fillies' Mile heroine Red Bloom (lot 303), and yet another eye-catcher from the stud's outstanding draft is lot 445, a Nayef colt who is the first foal out of the G1 Prix Royal-Oak heroine Allegretto, also successful in the Goodwood Cup and Park Hill Stakes.

On the final day of selling, Watership Down Stud offers a Galileo colt (lot 373) out of the 2004 Prix Vermeille winner Sweet Stream, whose 2009 Galileo filly sold here last year for 180,000gns.

Lot 3 can help get the sale off to an excellent start as this Oasis Dream colt is a half-brother to the dual G1-winning sprinter Cape Of Good Hope.

A full sister to last season's G1 Pretty Polly Stakes winner Chinese White is offered as lot 14, from the family of the leading sire Invincible Spirit.

The sole lot on offer in Book 1 by the leading US sire Street Cry is lot 38, a half-brother to the 2008 G1 Dewhurst Stakes winner Intense Focus.

Another sire with just one lot on offer is Firebreak, who is represented by lot 44, a half-brother to the dam of Firebreak's G1-winning son Hearts Of Fire.

Sakhee also has only one entry in Book 1 but the colt is certain to be popular, being a full brother to the globe-trotting dual G1 winner Presvis (lot 90).

Another full brother to an outstanding performer overseas is lot 102, a brother to Gitano Hernando who has won at the highest level in the US and Singapore.

Three lots later comes a Galileo half-brother to the G1-winning juvenile Alfred Nobel, from the family of Galileo's Derby-winning son New Approach (lot 105).

Lot 172 is a Shirocco half-sister to Wigmore Hall, who recently won the G1 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes. Also related to a top-level winner in Canada is lot 182, a Montjeu full-sister to the G1 Canadian International winner Joshua Tree.

From an outstanding family is lot 228, a Galileo half-brother to the multiple G1 winner Bago, winner of the 2004 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, from the family of Machiavellian.

A half-brother to the recently-retired multiple G1 winner Canford Cliffs, by Excellent Art, is offered as lot 233, while an eye-catching filly by Oasis Dream is lot 286, a half-sister to the Prix Maurice de Gheest winner King's Apostle.

Lot 300 is a Montjeu colt who is a half-brother to the dual G1 winner Lahudood, from the family of Nashwan and Nayef, while by Nayef himself is a half-brother to the G1 winner Red Bloom, out of the smart performer Red Camellia (lot 304).

Two lots later is an Iffraaj half-sister to the Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Vale Of York (lot 306), who is followed into the ring by a Motivator half-brother to the middle-distance performer Ask (lot 307).

An interesting prospect is a half-brother to the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Termagant who is bred to be more speedy that his half-sister being by Elusive City (lot 315).

This year's Grade 1 Gamely Stakes heroine Dubawi Heights passed through the Park Paddocks sales ring three times, including when sold for 72,000gns during Book 1, and her half-brother by Green Desert is offered as lot 319.

On the third day of selling comes a Hurricane Run half-brother to the Grand Prix de Paris winner Cavalryman (lot 347).

Another eye-catching full sibling is lot 408, a Pivotal brother to the Lockinge Stakes winner Virtual, who is also closely related to the high-class juvenile Iceman.

Lot 464 is a Dalakhani half-brother to the dual Grade 1-winning mare Ticker Tape, out of a dam who has produced five winners from as many foals, while another close relative to a Grade 1 winner is lot 475, a Shamardal half-sister to the Del Mar Oaks winner Singhalese.

Finally, just a handful of lots from the end, is a Galileo filly from the outstanding family of Brigid, already dam of the Group 1 winners Sequoyah, dam of Henrythenavigator, and Listen (lot 502).
