He joins Bluegrass Cat and Rock Of Gibraltar as new shuttlers to Chile in 2011 while Father Time and Ivan Denisovich have also been secured by Chilean breeders.

Soldier Of Fortune will stand at the Haras Porta Pia near Santiago in partnership with a number of other Chilean studs.

Soldier Of Fortune began stud duties in France at the Haras du Logis Saint Germain last year at a fee of €10,000 for a partnership that included his owners Coolmore.

He covered 124 mares in his first season.

Soldier Of Fortune won his maiden and finished runner-up to Passage Of Time in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud at two.

After scoring in the Prix Noailles on his three-year-old debut he won the Chester Vase, was fifth to Authorized in the Epsom Derby and then won Irish Derby by nine lengths from Alexander Of Hales (now racing in Sydney) and Eagle Mountain.

He also won the Prix Niel at three and was fifth to stablemate Dylan Thomas in the Arc.

He raced on at four to win the Coronation Cup, finish second to Youmzain in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud and third to Zarkava in the Arc.

Soldier Of Fortune is a brother to G3 winner Heliostatic out of the Listed juvenile scorer Affianced, a half-sister to Sholokhov and the grand-dam of Intense Focus.
