A filly by Zelzal (Sea The Stars) was the most expensive lot to sell at this year's Oasrus Breeze Up Sale at La Test on Tuesday when she sold to Mandore International on behalf of Alain Jathiere for €60,000.

Sold as Lot 71, the filly is out of the seven time winning Falco (Pivotal) mare Falcolina and she was bought for €29,000 at the Arqana October Yearling Sale last year.

Zelzal stands at Haras de Bouquetot and his oldest crop are now three-year-olds.

The top-priced colt was a son of Starspangledbanner (Choisir) who was also bought by Mandore International on behalf of Alain Jathiere for €56,000.

Sold early in the day as Lot 8, the colt is out of the unraced mare Lady Tamayuz (Tamayuz) who is yet to produce a winner from two foals to race.

Starspangledbanner formerly shuttled to Rosemont Stud in Victoria but will not return this spring. His fee this year at Coolmore Stud in Ireland was advertised at €35,000.

Overall 46 lots sold for €685,500, down from last year's figure when 39 lots were sold for €798,500. The average fell 15 per cent from €19,742 to €16,705 while the median rose 17 per cent from €12,000 last year to €14,000.
