Segenhoe-consigned colt out of Miss Admiration bought by Ciaron Maher and TFI

A colt from the final crop of Arrowfield Stud's Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice) topped Wednesday's second session of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale when bought by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock and TFI for $1.7 million. 

Catalogued as Lot 261 in the draft of Segenhoe Stud, the colt is the first foal out of Group Three winner and Group One placed mare Miss Admiration (Sebring). 

Miss Admiration was raced by Segenhoe Stud and trained by Mick Price. She won twice and placed third in the 2018 Australian Oaks (Gr 1, 2000m). 

Bidding opened at $800,000 and Ciaron Maher, who has enjoyed great success with the progeny of Not A Single Doubt having trained Kenedna, Anders and Dubious, said he was excited to buy the colt. 

"I'm pretty excited to get him," Maher said. "Obviously they don't make the Not a Single Doubts anymore with him retiring (from stud). 

"We've just had so much success with that breed. Given last year and the results I knew he was going to be a big price. He was going to be a colt that was on everyone's list and I'm just rapt to be able to get him.

"She (Miss Admiration) was a quality mare – a nice young mare. And the colt is just a great physical, good temperament – he ticks all the boxes.

"He's a real stallion prospect," Maher added.

Four yearlings by Not A Single Doubt have now sold at the sale this year at an average of $1,025,000. Segenhoe Stud meanwhile have sold nine yearlings over the first two days at an average of $496,667.
