Tweenhills announce death of stallion due to pelvis injury

Tweenhills announced the death of Havana Gold (Teofilo) who suffered a fatal pelvis injury. The stallion was 13. 

Winner of the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat (1600m) in 2013, Havana Gold stood his first season at stud in 2014 when his fee was £8,500. He was crowned champion first season sire in Great Britain in 2017 and he was the leading sire of two-year-olds in Great Britain in 2021. Havana Gold's leading earner, the Group 1 Flying Five Stakes (5f) winner Havana Grey, was the leading first season sire in Great Britain last year. 

Havana Gold's 2023 fee had been set at £10,000, having stood for £12,500 last year.
