Anyone who as kept an eye on the Thousand Guineas lead-ups races would be across the rich link that Waltz On By has to the 1600-metre Group 1.

By I Am Invincible, the Peter Moody-trained filly is out of Stay With Me (Street Cry), the Thousand Guineas winner of 2015 who is daughter of 2006 Guineas heroine Miss Finland  (Redoute's Choice).

But Waltz On By is not the only runner in Wednesday's $1 million feature who is a granddaughter of a former winner with the horse she narrowly denied last start in the Group 3 Jim Moloney Stakes (1400m) boasting a similar family tree.

Jenny Jerome is by Churchill out of Tortoni, who is the result of a union between Strategic and Whisked, who won the Guineas 32 years ago.

The Guineas was one of three wins in a 21-start career for Whisked, who also won the Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) and Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Group 2 level.

But for all her achievements on the track, Whisked is perhaps best-known for producing a horse who has won more Group 1s than all bar Winx, Black Caviar, Kingston Town, Sunline and Melody Belle.

Tie The Knot (Nassipour), a 13-time Group 1 winner, was the second foal from Whisked, who went on to have an additional 11 named foals, the last of whom was Tortoni.

Her only win from four starts came in a 1000m Wagga maiden, but she has already proven herself a handy broodmare.

First foal Café Tortoni (Reset) is a six-time winner, second foal Torsiton also won, while Cherry Tortoni counts the Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase (2040m) among six wins in a career that also includes a second placing in the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m).
