Vancouver, the unbeaten two-year-old who counted the Golden Slipper among his four wins, will stand at stud in Victoria from next season.

The son of Medaglia d'Oro has been bought by Eddie Hirsch, who recently acquired Woodside Park Stud, which is where he will stand.

Vancouver has stood at Coolmore since the competition of his racing career and commanded a fee of $22,000 (inc GST) last year. His fee at Woodside will be announced in coming months.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse, Vancouver won his first four starts – culminating with the 2015 Golden Slipper – and was retired after the first run of his three-year-old season, a fourth placing in the San Domenico Stakes.

Vancouver has produced eight stakes winners from his three crops to race, including Group 2 winners Vangelic and Overpass. He has covered a total of 758 mares during his first six seasons at stud and covered a book of 37 mares last year.

He will join a Woodside roster that includes Foxwedge, Rich Enuff and Tosen Stardom.
