Having begun his career with Newmarket-based trainer John Gosden, New King (5 h Frankel - Marine Bleue by Desert Prince) landed his first race since being transferred to Matthew Dale's stable, as he took out the Everest Carnival On Sale Handicap (1500m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

The five-year-old entire landed two races for Gosden and owners Qatar Racing - who still race him in a partnership that also includes bloodstock agent James Harron after he purchased the entire for 450,000gns at the 2019 Tattersalls July Sale and he brought up his third career win when beating Word For Word (So You Think) by a length and a quarter with a nose back to Frosty Rocks (Your Song) in third.

The colt is out of Group 3 winning Desert Prince (Green Desert) mare Marine Bleue, making him a half-brother to Listed scorers Military Law (Dubawi) and Marina Piccola (Halling), who in turn produced Grosser Preis von Berlin (Gr 1, 2400m) winner French King (French Fifteen).

Marine Bleue herself is a half-sister to Listed winner Mystic Spirit (Invincible Spirit).

Further back this is the same family as Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Mirio (Priolo), Grade 3 winner Montemiro (Kris) and Listed scorer Montejoy (Bering).

New King provided Juddmonte Farm-based Frankel (Galileo) with his 18th winner in Australia and his progeny in the country are headed by Group 2-winning filly's Miss Fabulass and Hungry Heart. Based at Banstead Manor in Newmarket he also covers to southern hemisphere time.
