Rosemont Stud-based Shamus Award (Snitzel) was provided with his seventh stakes winner on Saturday as his son Flying Award (2 c ex Flying Dansino by Fusaichi Pegasus) lead home a quinella for the stallion in the Anzac Day Stakes (Listed, 1400m) at Flemington.

Trained by Danny O'Brien, the colt had finished second on his first two career starts, but there was no doubting his class on Saturday as he pulled away to score a quarter length win over Ironedge.

O'Brien is already eyeing a tilt at greater riches with the colt and has penciled in the Caulfield Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) for the son of Shamus Award.

"He gave himself a bit to do but he's a horse that we really think will be around the mark when we get to the spring, around a mile, mile-and-a-quarter," O'Brien said.

"He's got all the right attributes to be a really top class three-year-old and we certainly think that we'd be aiming him at the Caulfield Guineas.

"He's by a three-year-old that ran well in the Caulfield Guineas and he's already in front of his dad because he's won a race as a two-year-old."

The colt is out of winning Fusaichi Pegasus (Mr Prospector) mare Flying Dansino, making him a half-brother to three winners including stakes-placed Snake Charmer (Pentire).

Flying Award's second dam is Dansino (Danehill), making Flying Dansino a half-sister to Listed scorer Zagreb (Zabeel).

Dansino herself is a half-sister to 1996 Australasian Oaks (Gr 1, 2000m) winner Lecia Smile (At Talaq), who in turn produced stakes winner Eclair Mystic (Stratum). The mare also counts Leica Vista (Sir Tristram) - the dam of Group 2 winner Moon Dragon (Danehill) and Listed winner Niblick (Encosta De Lago) - as her other half-sibling.

Shamus Award's seven stakes winners are headed by Queensland Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Mr Quickie.

Flying Dansino's two-year-old filly - Embedded (Shamus Award) - remains unraced and she has most recently been covered by the Rosemont Stud Stallion earlier this year.
