RACE 2 (2) FARAWAY TOWN: Good filly with a record that should read much better than just one win in 15 starts as she has taken on the best of her age in many Group races and has regularly picked up prizemoney cheques against the likes of Yankee Rose, Prized Icon, Omei Sword, Ruthven and Spright etc. Obviously well placed in this company on that form with plenty of scope to improve on her eye catching fourth over 1200m at this course on June 3 at her first outing since she was placed in the Kembla Grange Classic over 1600m in March. Getting out to 1400m must work for her here as she boasts a good record at this course and heavy conditions are no concern.
RACE 3 (2) ZAMEX: Ran up to expectations when he proved a class above his Class 2 rivals over 1400m at this course on June 3 when he scored in the style of a horse destined to win in better company. His barrier manners remain a concern but he was able to recover after dwelling by two lengths here last time and as long as he begins on terms he should have the measure of this field as he rises only 1kg and the extra 100m is ideal. Banking on his ability to handle the heavy conditions after scoring so well last time on top of the ground.RACE 5 (2) MOSS ‘N’ DALE: In-form Victorian gelding returns to Sydney seeking another win under favourable heavy conditions after landing the money in a BM 78 over 1400m at Randwick in April. He then won again in the heavy at Warrnambool before his last start second in the Echuca Cup on a soft surface over 1400m on May 28, an excellent form race as the winner Tshahitsi has since won easily at Flemington. Well placed with the benefit of the 3kg claim for apprentice Jack Martin, he eats up affected tracks and has the tactical speed to be sitting hard on the pace from the start.
