Not A Single Cent wins 2018 Sires’ Produce Group 2 $200,000 at Flemington (VIC), 1400m.
Not A Single Cent improved markedly on his debut fifth of seven at Caulfield last month to hold on well and score at Group Two level. He settled just forward of midfield (rails) and held his position around the big bend and into the straight where rider Mark Zahra waited for a split.
He had to keep to the fence until the 200m then eased out and around the leaders, put his head in front at the 50m and had a half length to spare at the line for a nice win.
Sebarate sat outside the leader most of the journey, took over narrowly at the 300m and looked a good chance, gamely keeping on to the line for an honest second.
Akkadian tracked the winner to the straight but had to go wide for a run and ran on very well when clear for a good third from Aristocratic Miss who didn’t get going until late, flashing into fourth along the inner.
