Morphettville races review - 1st July 2017

Jamie Kah extended her lead in the city jockeys premiership when she picked up a ride on October Date in the opening event of 2024 metres at Morphettville on Saturday.

Being under the care of Nick Smart October Date maintained a forward position throughout the event.

Trainer Richard Jolly received a welcome home present after holidaying in Europe when his charge Purrfect Kisses took out the 1100 metre second race.

Guided to victory by Jake Toeroek Purrfect Kisses, a last start second place-getter, came from a midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Appreciating the change of tracks flying casino brought up his twelfth win from seventy starts in the 2600 metre third race.

Mentored at Murray Bridge by John Hickmott and having the services of Jason Holder Flying Casino came from well back to take the event.

Jamie Kah brought up her second winner for the day and extended her lead to four with a month left in the racing season when she guided Seattle Boom to a win in the 1050 metre fourth race.

Resuming after a spell and bringing up his third win from six starts the Andrew Noblet prepared Seattle Boom was never troubled.

Clare Lindop penned one back on Jamie Kah in the jockeys’ premiership when she steered Ace Attack to a win in the 1800 metre fifth race.

Being under the care of Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas Ace Attack was well placed throughout.

Having his first start since April Arkham Knight was too strong for his rivals when he took out the 1200 metre sixth race.

Guided to victory by Paul Gatt and prepared at Strathalbyn by John Macmillan Arkham Knight charged home after racing at the rear of the field.

The Macdonald/Gluyas stable scored its second win for the day when Counter Spin took out the 1200 metre seventh race.

Ridden by the ‘girl of the moment’ last week Raquel Clark, Counter Spin was well placed.

Jamie Kah scored her third winner for the day when she rode Balf’s Choice to his third win in the 1600 metre final event.

Being under the care of Ryan Balfour Balf’s Choice, who was having his second run after a spell, came from last on the home turn to meet with success.
