New Zealand-based agent Paul Willetts got his name on the buyers sheet at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale on Tuesday as he went to 65,000gns for Sing A Rainbow - a one-time winning daughter of Frankel (Galileo) - who was offered in foal to Lanwades Stud-based sire Sea The Moon (Sea The Stars).

Catalogued as Lot 1553, the mare is out of Group 3-winning mare Beatrice Aurore (Danehill Dancer), who was also placed at Group 1 level and the resulting foal will be a three-quarters sibling to her other winner, Group 3 scorer Lavender’s Blue (Sea The Stars).

Beatrice Aurore herself is a daughter of Listed winner Mondschein (Rainbow Quest), who in turn also produced fellow stakes-winning trio Sibelius (Night Shift), Vigelegele (Be My Chief) and Ray (Rock Of Gibraltar).

Meanwhile, Anthony Thompson’s Widden Stud and Tweenhills teamed up to purchase winning Havana Gold (Teofilo) mare Worship, who was offered in foal to former Haunui Farm shuttler Iffraaj (Zafonic), having produced a colt by shuttler Zoustar (Northern Meteor) this season.

Further back this is the same family as Listed winner Zaman (Dutch Art) and Group 3 scorer Summer Fate (Pivotal).

The mare was catalogued as Lot 1582 and was offered as part Broughton Bloodstock’s complete dispersal.
