Little Prophet strikes at Murwillumbah for trainer Colt Prosser.
The Aquis Farm-based first season sire Divine Prophet (Choisir) sired his fourth winner on Monday when the Colt Prosser-trained Little Prophet (2 f ex Little 'N' Cute by Lujain) broke her maiden at the third time of asking.
Last seen finishing fourth at Grafton on April 30, Little Prophet was slowly away from the barriers and settled at the rear of the field. Into the straight, Little Prophet powered down the outside to score a long neck victory over Fresh Prince (Starspangledbanner) in the Murwillumbah Services Club Handicap (1100m) at Murwillumbah. In'Hinchable (Hinchinbrook) was another length and a half away in third.
Bought by Colt Prosser Racing for $20,000 at last year's Inglis Classic Yearling Sale from the draft of Davali Thoroughbreds, Little Prophet becomes the sixth winner out of her dam Little 'N' Cute (Lujain) who is a half-sister to stakes placed mare Gold Anthem (Made Of Gold); dam of multiple Group 1 winner and successful sire Starspangledbanner (Choisir).
This is also the family of Thousand Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Amicus (Fastnet Rock).
Divine Prophet covered a book of 115 mares last year at a fee of $22,000 (inc GST) and will stand the 2021 season for a fee of $16,500 (inc GST).
