The Money Trail – Warwick Farm, Wednesday June 15

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Wednesday’s meeting at Warwick Farm.

Track: Soft 6

Rail: +3m Entire Circuit

First race: 1.15pm

Madame Giselle (Race 1) has taken over as favourite at $2.70 after being heavily backed in early betting, firming in a couple of points. She is a runner for the successful Anthony Cummings-Blake Shinn combination, who strike together at 25 per cent. The filly only managed eighth on debut was only beaten a couple of lengths after making late ground and is expected to improve over the longer trip.

Kingsguard (Race 2) takes on an odds-on favourite but is being given a good chance of an upset after firming in more than a dollar to a fixed quote of $2.50. The former Kiwi debuts for Team Hawkes but showed ability in his home land with close up finishes behind Xtravagant and Mackintosh and won a Sydney barrier trial last week.

Guard Of Honour (Race 4) is into the red at $1.90 after being heavily backed when opening an already dominant favourite. He ran last in the Canonbury Stakes on debut but was well in the market and has won two recent trials, the latest by five lengths over subsequent Sydney winner Conchita.

Magicaz (Race 6) is throwing down the challenge to the favourites, firming in several points from an opening each way quote to $5 with TopBetta. She has one of the highest last start ratings in the field after a last-start Hawkesbury win and is unbeaten in two tries at this distance.
